New Build - Bios not detecting Sata..

Hi all, just started new build today, steady away and powered on for first time, no problems with beeps or anything (motherboard is lit red though). Anyway, I have a sata hard drive and sata dvd rom connected as well as a sata connector for the tower, but no tower lights, bios does not detect hard drive or dvd rom (it wont open, no power).

Any quick suggestions I could try?

SATA controller enabled in BIOS? Should be in one of the chipset feature menus

sounds like thats your answer.....no power
have you plugged the molex in? silly question i know but sounds like thats what it is

should be AHCI enabled

even without a sata cable plugged in the draw should open if powered

Im not sure where the sata controller is, motherboard is Asus m4a88td-v evo usb3

oh hang on, first psu i got that is modular (OCZ ModXStream 700w) and i see some other cables that look like sata one that might need connected..

edit: doh! and the modular cables cammy5477 mentioned

try plugging them into usb 2 ports and see what happens

im in business now cheers guys, i thought my cable tidying skills suddenly got good, it was because i still had to attach the molex and sata cables to the psu.

I would disconnect then reconnect everything and try booting the system again

in my defence its been over 10 months since last built a pc, i think thats a good enough excuse

i checked everything like the power connectors etc, did the usual checking but man i felt stupid when i looked over to the PSU box and there was about 6 extra cables waiting to be put into the PSU
