hi guys not too sure where i should post this so hope i got the right place lol.

i recently completed my first pc build and when it came to booting up the machine i came across a few problems.

first time i switched the machine on it appeared to boot fine fans started spinning, got a little beep from the speakers but unfortunately my monitor would not display anything and just said 'no signal'.

i then tried an old graphics card i had in my old machine to see if the problem was with the new card, i got the same problem with this card too. ( i tried the new card in old machine just to double check and it worked fine)

when i put the new build back together and tried booting again the fans started then stopped almost instantly then there was a 5-10second delay and they kicked in properly but no beeps from the speaker. still with no display.

any1 have any ideas what the trouble could be caused by and how i could resolve this issue.

specs are:
gigabyte p61a-d3 motherboard ( i have a sneaky suspicion this is the weak link in the build maybe cause of trouble)
asus gtx560ti graphics card
intel i7 3770k ivy bridge cpu
coolermaster 600w gx lite powersupply
corsair vengeance 8gb ram
sony dvd drive
barracuda 1tb hard drive

any response is appreciated, cheers guys

unfortunately i dont know what version i have or how to update it without the monitor displaying any image, sorry im a complete noob at this lol. is there a way i can check and how do i update it thanks for fast response. i was told to try remove the battery from the motherboard and replace but this made no change.

Get a decent Z77 motherboard, these was designed for your CPU.

or if you want SLI support:

These will also allow you to overclock your CPU :)
