New Build BSOD/Win7 locking up

Running another test.
Voltage @ 1.6 shows 1.57
timings @ 10-10-10-32
speed @ 1333

If there are no errors i will try playing in windows, if windows then freezes then I dont know what to think :/

If it works fine at the lower speeds and fails at higher then the memory is not working as it was intended to and is faulty.

I had the issues on my system, the ram would run fine at 1333mhz and give me the errors you see above in my pic at 1600mhz and windows would blue screen instantly.

timings back to 9-9-9-28 only 14 errors.

Seem to be always on test 5...

From memtest FAQ

- I'm getting errors in test #5 and/or #8 and have read a lot about it.

Yes there are just about enough discussions on the topic to fill a book, but
it all boils down to the answer given above. The only thing that can be said
is that many a times, when memory latencies are incorrectly set in the BIOS
you will experience errors in test #5 and #8. (Though #8 does not exist
anymore as of version 1.40 and might be reinstated as a different test in a
later version.) This does however NOT mean that errors in these tests are
always the cause of incorrect settings, your memory might just as well be
defective.

Update: was looking through the supported memory list for my motherboard, not much information on there and as there are so many memory types they cant test them all.

But I did look at the supported CPU list too. The FX-6200 was only supported after the F8 bios update. currently I am running F7.

Therefore before sending off for a return on my ram I would like to try and update my bios. Which release should I update to? I think I have to do this using Q-Flash and as I have dual bios If I **** it up, will the backup bios take over and update the first?

Never updated a bios before so all help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I assumed it BSODed overnight cause it had a screen saying "windows could not boot" gonna play with the timings and test again. Also I may be able to get a stick of ddr3 to test with so hopefully I won't get anymore errors

Prime 95 ran fine for 1 hr. I close it down and try to install chrome and once again it locks up. I'm going to see if I can test my ram in my friends system today.

Tested my RAM in my friends computer and it works fine.
Tested my friends RAM in my computer and it still locks up.

I have no clue what could be causing this problem :(

To rule out a few things

Gigabyte 970A-D3 version 1.1 - Could be causing problem
AMD FX-6200 3.8GHz 6core - Could be causing problem
ASUS HD6670 800MHz core 1GB DDR3 at 1800MHz - Could be causing problem
Geil Evo leggera dual channel PC3 14900 1866MHz 4GB x2 - Not causing problem
Akasa Venom 750W modular power supply - Could be causing problem
Samsung 830 SSD 128GB - Not causing problem
Toshiba 1TB 7200rpm HDD - Not causing problem
LG 24x DVD drive - Not causing problem

I THINK IM GETTING SOMEWHERE :)

Dropped CPU, Northbridge and HT Link all down to their lowest multipliers. Test 5 completed with no errors. gonna run a full memtest for atleast 5 passes and hopefully i may be getting somewhere :)

Original:
CPU - 3800MHz
NB - 2200MHz
HT Link - 2400MHz

Now:
CPU - 1400MHz
NB - 1000MHz
HT Link - 400MHz

Being test 5 errors im running test 5 constant.

3.8ghz 3.6ghz cpu gives me errors
3.4ghz cpu gives me errors in pass 2
3.2ghz cpu is still running no errors in pass 1 and pass 2

EDIT: errors in pass 3
