Confusion all round I guess. I am building myself. When you said check that your componants are 64 compatable I though you were refering to the HELL (and the bits and bobs I was taking out of that)

What board would you go for and what are the benefits over the ABIT board I had settled on?

I already have some 6400 Crucial stuff.

Cheers

PC 6400 Crucial is good.

I'd rather have the P35C DS3R as (a) it supports DDR2 and DDR3 and (b) there seems to be a wealth of evidence that it clocks extremely well. That said I can't knock the ABIT one (indeed some ABIT motherboards are very good indeed) I just haven't heard enough to recommend it particularly.

Either way I'm sure you'll get monster clocks @ 3+ GHz, and not have to spend much money, which is what it is all about. Make sure you cool the CPU with a tuniq tower, Noctua, Scythe Ninja or a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme.

Hello Melbourne,

Took a look at the board and its very reasonable (costing) so I think that I will go for that could you tell me though it mentions in the spec that it has "raid function" is that striaght out of the box or do you have to buy an additional card.

Thanks for your reply kinda went off topic for a while.
