Plenty of 2070S cards around £480-£500, paying £100 more for the same card is madness imo - put that money toward a 10700k.

Any reason for intel over Ryzen?

Yes midi case is fine as long as it supports atx

One advantage is that the 10 series have HT on, so the 10700 is 8/16 to the 9700 being 8/8. They also have a higher stock speed for the RAM at 2933 which could make compatibility better.

The Z490 motherboards will also support rocket lake won't they? I thought I had read that.

You missed out storage from your build but not sure if you have that already?

Not really worth buying intel last gen parts, so I'll give you some ideas.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,472.60 (includes shipping: £14.70)

Thankyou for your help!

I do already have an SSD but thanks for noting!
Don’t get me wrong I’m no computer whizz, only built two in the past, one being 12months ago so I know a little bit. I can get a Aorus rtx 2060 super for £478.00 elsewhere, could you do me a basket with compatible parts based around that card by any chance? Preferably AIO cooler too, midi case.

TIA!

Assuming you meant to write 2070 super...

GPUs are standardised and will go in pretty much any machine without issue providing the PSU is sufficient and the case is big enough - no need to worry about compatibility between parts

I guess it saves around £100.00...other than cost no real reason. Do you see a problem with it?

Preferably AIO cooler too

So you're trying to save £100 on a CPU that can't overclock, yet you want to spend an extra £140 on an AIO? I normally associate an AIO with overclocking so it seems odd to want one if you're not going to.

Joxeon suggested an excellent AMD build for £1,472.60 which doesn't need an AIO. There's room to save money on the GPU if you wish by getting the 2070 Super that Joxeon also suggested.

Gents I have no idea what I’m really doing hence asking for advice which is very much appreciated. I’ll take it onboard no danger! I don’t know that you can’t over lock a particular cpu, I won’t be over locking anything as I’ve no real desire to do that. I want a PC for around £1500.00 using intel cpu and gigabyte 2060/70 super that will run FPS games at 120 frames per second at 1080 on max settings

Thankyou for your help!
