Hi, its come to the time where I'm thinking of purchasing my new upgrade components, as i am new to building myself i wanted to post here what i am getting and what i currently have which will remain in the build. i just want the reassurance that all will hopefully be compatible and run well together.

I want this as a general home PC and a gaming rig. ill probably try and over clock the processor to about 4.2ghz - 4.4ghz tops as im not to fussed for more than that and ill be using the stock cooler for the processor. ive been reassured that it is easy enough to get to this stat stable?.


Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

Asus P8P67-M Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 MicroATX Motherboard

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

i have a EVGA GTX 550 ti fpb hd 1gb gddr5 GPU, 2 x 300gb SATA HDD's and..

XFX Pro 550W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply.

i just want to make sure that the money i have is money well spent.

The stock cooler is fine for what you want to do, the rest of the parts are good and compatible.

i dont know a lot about mobos i just wanted a asus p67 mobo for a fair price. i like the bios with asus and i liked the price will this board be quite small then? i think that my current mobo is the same size the one i have atm is around 10x10 inchs in size

sorry you'll have to explain all those things as i dont understand what they are?. are these great advantages over the asus or would i be ok still with the asus board i linked ill only really be doing a small oc on the processor?
 
im still not sure i understand much of that will the asus be just as good for my needs? also is the rest of the system stable and compatible?
 
The rest of the system is all compatible and such, the ASUS is ok, but for £10 your getting more features and a great overclocker.

great thanks stulid.. i think im going to stick with the asus mATX mobo i think it will be more than enough for what im after, as long as all the other components are ok and will all work together nicely thats all. is there a good guide anywhere for overclocking a core i5 2500k on the asus bios as im a noob when it comes to overclocking a step by step guide would help me for the specific bios i will use??
