Hi All,

First post so sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Just wanted to make a quick post about my new build and the service from OC.

Sold my old PC a few months back as was supposed to be waiting until Starcraft 2 or WoW-Cataclysm was very close but got the bug and went for it.

Had a budget of around £1100 for the full system including o/s and was looking for best bang per buck and a stable, overclocked system.

So after much umming and ahhing i went for the following;

From Overclockers
i3 530 overclocked to 4ghz kit
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w PSU
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB
Samsung DVD/RW
Antec 300
Asus ATI Radeon HD 5850
Windows 7 home premium retail

From elsewhere
LG 22inch TFT 1920x1080 5ms
Logitech Speakers
Logitech Wave Keyboard and Laser Mouse Combo
Antec Tri cool 120mm fans x3
High gain wireless adapter

Came in at under £1050 including vat and del.

Firstly the service from O/C was brilliant. I placed the elsewhere orders on the Friday (mostly amazon to save a few..very few quid) and the O/C orders Sunday and Tuesday... both orders from O/C arrived before everything else, well packaged and the courier had the smarts to knock at my neighbours as her car was there to leave the items.

Build went like clockwork, not done a clean build for about 6 years now and was amazed at how easily everything just clicks together now. The case is a dream to work with, compact but still plenty of room, the OCZ psu with its modular cables made it a breeze to route the wiring away from the airflow. I put it all together downstairs in the kitchen, carried it upstairs to the office, worked first time.... gotta love that feeling :)

After an effortless install of windows 7 and the usual driver set up i set about tinkering.

Firstly i thought id see if the CPU had anymore to give. I got the pre overclocked 4ghz but wondered if there was more in there, initially i ran at 4.4ghz for a few days, Orthos had run for 5 hours+, temps were good, but eventually WoW bluescreened so i backed it off to 4.2ghz and has been solid since.

Next was the vid card, i got the Asus one with the volt tweak, after a bit of experimenting im running 24/7 at 950/4250 with a volt increase to 1.15v. Furmark runs forever and hasnt gone over 75c yet so happy there.

Generally the whole system is a peach, Crysis and Warhead both fly at max settings, its beautifully responsive and great to look at. 3dmark 2006 comes in at around 22500 points and running furmark and orthos overnight doesnt bother it at all.

10/10 to O/C for their service and the i3 bundle.

Would have liked to but it did push me over budget moving to an i5 or i7 .. im pretty staunch intel so didnt even look at AMD to be honest.

The primary aim was for it to run Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 and Cataclysm well (Blizzard Fan boy!) so im more than pleased with what ive got for the money :)
