New build - FAIL!

i blew up my first build! bit of a fan issue on a amd 1700+ - everything went quiet, so i bought another 1700+. oops

It now turns on... for about 20 - 30 seconds then turns off?? i tried pressing ctrl alt del on keyboard n that seemed to restart it and the lights on keyboard work... new mobo *** then? as it shouldnt turn off like that.

Mine did this when the heatsink wasn't seated properly, the CPU was overheating after about 30seconds and the computer would shut off...
