New Build for 12 year old

Just wondering if someone could put a little rig together for a 12 year old at maximum of £400? I've tried and always go over, his dad wants it upgradable for future but for now is willing to spend about £400? with keyboard and mouse, monitor not included!

Depending on what the kid is doing with it, depends on which spec is better.

If gaming the spec with the 265 is perfect but if he's doing general use and homework/other projects (little/no gaming) the spec with the SSD would suit better.

As forgot to press reply earlier, buy haswell pentiums on a z97 seems the best idea

He likes gaming a lot but has ps4.. So that at the minute is the least he needs, mainly for homework etc but I think the second one will do him better as he can game a little plus homework I suppose

as he wants him set up with a pc at a young age like myself at his age so he has one to build himself when older..
