Long time no see overclockers community :) the time has come for me to start a new build and as per I come to the experts for assistance. I am looking at building a BEAST this time round, well as much as one can afford anyway :P

I would like it to run all games effortlessly on full graphics while also running a stream, I would also like it to be compatible with any new chipsets or hardware that may come out for future upgrades.

Am not in much of a rush so should i need to wait between item purchases I shall to make sure I get the best for my buck and what I desire ofcourse, looking to spend between 200-300 a part really where it matters.

Now I have been hearing and reading good things about MSI so was thinking along the lines of

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-259-ms.html

that for starters, is that all compatible and worth it? or would i be better of getting the cheaper socket motherboard and going that route? please feel free to suggest what you would do.

Im looking for the same thing, want a PC that won't get throttled playing games whilst streaming. I have been reccomended this build by someone who has just recently brought it. Down side is you may need to get i7 instead of i5 which is an extra 100 quid but if you can afford it then go for it.

Intel Core i5-6600K 3.9GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor
Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
HyperX Fury Black Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) 2133 MHz DDR4 Memory
Zotac GeForce GTX 980Ti AMP Omega Edition 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Fractal Design Define S Midi Tower Case
EVGA 650 W G2 GOLD 80+ Modular PC Power Supply Unit
Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB 2.5 inch Solid State Drive

Hope this helps its around 1200. Ill sort a basket out later as im on my phone at the moment.

thanks for the reply m8, yeah similar ideas but I think I am after maybe spending a little more and like mentioned earlier i have heard MSI is good so am looking to try get MSI parts where possible and if not MSI then Asus seem to be doing fairly nice work from what I hear.

i think i might go for this... let me know what u guys think.

(is that compatible and will it fit?)

and if you could suggest good cooling for me? possibly water cooling? which i have never fitted before so i hope it is not to hard :P and am not sure what i need for it.

i see people posting their builds more like this so if it makes it easier....

Z170A Gaming M7 Intel Z170 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - Retail
Dominator Platinum 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-29200C18 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black (CMD8GX4M2
GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Professional Series AX 760W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply (CP-9020045-UK)
2x 950 Pro 256GB M.2 PCI-e 3.0 x 4 NVMe Solid State Drive? do they fit?
Phantom 820 Enthusiast Ultra Tower Case - Gun Metal

If you spend less on some of those components you can easily fit a 980 ti in there. Your spec comes to around £1566 and you still need a cpu cooler.

Something like this is cheaper, has a GTX 980 ti, 16GB Ram and includes a sealed water cooler.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,511.54
(includes shipping: £14.70)

the TI that much better? would the rest not suffer to much? would it not be better to get the parts I suggested and then look to upgrade the graphics card to that one later down the line? also what about the fact I wanted MSI components where possible? or are they not really any better?

i kinda am looking to have all killer components not some killer and some not.

was my build **** then? :P

I mean I do like your build, but what if I got the items I listed with the Ti u suggested? Also is water cooling hard to set up? And is it needed if I don't intend on overclocking? Or you suggest I also overclock?

980ti is pretty much 2x 970, so of course it's that much better :P not sure what you mean by the other components suffering?

The cooler is needed (maybe not that specific one, but you need a cooler). You can either go with that one from Lee, or just air cooling. Up to you.

oh yeah ofcourse cooling is needed, i just meant if i am not planning on overclocking it would be fine with air? :P well the motherboard, ram etc you suggested are just as good as the ones i picked? if so why so much cheaper? the ram i picked had higher rates etc which make a difference right? i am not really on a budget so preferably i want parts that will not need upgrading for a while.

An air cooler will do fine if you are not overclocking. Something like an Alpenfohn Matterhorn Pure or Black.

You can switch back to an MSI motherboard if you prefer that brand. A more expensive board will just have extra features over a low/mid range that you may or may not need/use. Asus, Gigabyte and MSI are all good brands.

Ram speed doesn't make much (If any) difference for things like gaming. Corsair Dominator Platinum is good if you plan on overclocking it. Otherwise a cheaper alternative from Kingston, Corsair (Vengeance) Team group etc will do exactly the same thing if you just want to plug it in and forget about it.
