Hi

Solved - Faulty PSU (might prove useful in future for someone....

Hoping for some advice, having some issues with new machine I built for my nephew.

The build wasn't a problem, everything worked fine initially, and I installed Windows 8 on the machine, installed drivers etc, seemed to be fine.

A couple of days later, he calls me too say he can't get the machine to boot, when I look, it seems Windows is having some issue reading the disk, I booted it off the CD, jumped to a command prompt, and could browse the machine fine, when I did a chkdsk, it took ages too run, and I could hear the disk spinning up pretty often. I assumed it was a dodgy hard disk, so I replaced it, rebuilt and all was fine.

Now the same thing is happening again, I can hear the disk keep spinning up every 10-20 seconds.

Everything was new, but I'm starting to wonder if it might be a power issue? Maybe motherboard even? Not really sure where too go from here with it.

Appreciate any suggestions!
