New Build Help Appreciated

How much money do you have to spend on a monitor?

I'm not a fan of TN panels, but if you want the most responsive screen you can find on the cheap I suppose it would suffice.

I'd be looking at something like the following personally:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £379.99 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Most of the TN panels with the same specs that I've seen aren't that much cheaper.

Hi Gary,

Looking £300-350 max.

Looking through forums, review, etc. IPS and TN seem to be the biggest argument.

From what I can see TN is faster response time but the colour isn’t the best. IPS has slower response times but better colour. So it’s had to know which to go with?

I have been looking at an IPS monitor with a quoted response time of 1ms, which to me looks to match the TN but with the pro of having the better colour.

What do you think of this:

Haha.

I actually edited my post to link that exact monitor at pretty much the same time you posted the link.

Definitely shop around if you do get that monitor though, I suspect you'll be able to find it elsewhere for a bit cheaper than on OCUK.

Here's a review for you: https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/acer/1409596/acer-nitro-vg270up-review

Haha I was looking back saying that link wasn’t there last time I looked.

Any experience on this 1ms VRB? Does it actually achieve this?

I’ll have a proper read of the review you sent when I’m done work.

From looking into it myself you'll be hard pressed to find a better monitor unless you spend another £100 to be honest, the review details everything pretty well so definitely read over it when you're home.

I bought the Dell S2719DGF in the end, bundled with a DP cable it came in around £360 delivered. So far I am very happy with the performance of this monitor and would highly recommend for someone who is looking for a 1440p, 144Hz, 1ms monitor for gaming.
