Hi Guys,

Having some issues with a new PC ive built, the issue is that the thing powers up twice! it turns on.....3 seconds....turns off....then comes on and stays on....but nothing displays on monitor, im missing something obvious but cant work it out for the life of me, im sitting here right now and its doing it with just the MOBO, GFX, CPU and RAM in, any ideas?

Mine turns on, then off, and about 2 seconds later turns on and stays on. Think it's some kind of feature, and might be particular to the type of motherboard you (and maybe me :P) have. I do also get this issue when the BIOS settings are wrong, or when I have an overclock.

I would think about maybe "untying" the start, stop, start thing and the no graphics on screen as they might not be related.

Couple of questions:

1. Do you get the 1x *BEEP* when you leave the computer on for 10 seconds or so which means it's passed POST? (or do you not have the speaker jumper plugged in?)
2. Does the monitor light turn green and nothing shows or is it stuck at orange?

Hmm could be a feature (bloody stupid one)

no beeps, red light on MOBO to signify power though it, then green light when on.

Monitor not getting signal, orange light with DVI and VGA.

Hmm, other than trying the basics I'm not sure mate. Might want to wait for someone else to reply, I would just go over the basics and see if it helps:

1. Trying RAM in another port
2. Trying only 1 stick of RAM
3. Try the video connector on another port if you run dual dvi graphics card
4. Reset the CMOS
5. Double check cabling to the monitor
6. Trying another DVI converter if you have one

Sorry I can't be of more help :/

no problem, thanks for the assist.

Just tried monitor with the DVI and its ok another machine, I had this issue with my first build and it was the third power slot on the MOBO i had missed (ATX4P1 on this MOBO) but ive got power to it this time. Really am stumped.

OK im really stumped, have tried my GFX from this machine (7900GT) in the new machine and it wont work either???

AHHHHH no ****king way! apparently this board, (ABIT IP35-E) doesnt support 533mhz ddr2, guess what speed my RAM is?? FFS!!

Actually the manufacturer page says it does support it, but lots of results in google for 533 causing problems.
