new build help plz

So did you follow the info in that thread? just right click the area under the Black bar and create a new simple volume.

Your 100MB boot manager partition is really on the wrong drive.

If you'd installed Windows without the HDD connected it would be on the SSD which is the best place for it.

this is wot i have now...

Well if you want to, you can re-install windows onto the SSD now and remove the SATA data cable to the HDD, then once you are back up and running you can re-attach the cable and delete those two partitions and create one bigger one.

right so what do i do now then

  • Leave it as it is and hope your HDD stays healthy

  • Delete the 100MB partition and attempt to repair the intallation

  • Install Windows again with the HDD disconnected
I'd go for the third option.

Edit:

And if you're going for the third option make sure the SATA mode in the BIOS is set to AHCI if it isn't already.

Well before you get too deep into installing other stuff I suggest you install Windows again with the HDD disconnected.

And make sure the SATA mode in the BIOS is set to AHCI if it isn't already.

Then, as stulid said, you can then re-connect the HDD, delete both partitions and create a new partition for the whole HDD.
