Hey guys, I'm currently attempting to put together a spec for a new build gaming pc.

Budget- £800 but cheaper the better!
Do not wish to reuse any components from old computer.
I would prefer to build the computer myself.

So far I have came up with:

Graphics card : Asus GeForce GTX 680 Direct CU II V2 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Hard Drive: 1TB Segate Barracuda

Motherboard bundle: Intel Core i5 4670K overclocked to 4.4GHz, Asus Z87-K Motherboard, TeamGroup Gold 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler

Power Supply: 750W Corsair Builder series

Case: Antec 300

I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions to make this build better/cheaper. I'm not sure if I need a 750W power supply for this build? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

if i was you i defiantly wouldn't get a gtx 680 now as the gtx 770 is faster and cheaper. also its better to get duel channel ram than a single module and you dont need 750w a 600w or even a 550w psu would be more than enough

I really like that, the only shame is the cooler isn't black...

Maybe a H80 would be better, though it could be louder..

That PSU is out of stock, so out of stock the page has gone. :)

Power supplies around that wattage are flying out of stock, we need more XFX 550's back to play with! Struggling to spec a decent PSU without it being too overkill or pointless, like a 650w (Overkill for 1 card, but can't run 2!).

in a few months time it will be 2 generations behind. graphics cards get old very quick being that he has £800 to spend he could get something like a 770 and run everything on ultra.

But to afford a 770 he will have to sacrifice other components that will last much longer than the GPU, like you said GPU's go out of date quickly.. Personally i'd get the 7870 LE or GTX 670 (pre-order) and make sure the rest of the rig is up to standard (ie: 4670k, fast RAM, overclockable).

If he feels the 670/7870 isn't up to his standards he will only have to wait 6/12 months to upgrade. and it's less expensive to upgrade a GPU than it is the CPU. :)
