Hi,

Im looking for some advice regarding the parts listed, which im thinking of buying - Primary use will be gaming, WoW, COD, NFS Shift etc. I was thinking 2x120mm at the front, 2x120 for Push-Pull set up on the H-50 and the 140mm for the roof - will I need this many? I would like the PC to run as cool as possible, but considering im not overclocking the PC (yet) will it require this many? with this many fans will I also need some sort of fan controller?

Im trying to go for RAID-0 for quicker loading times and writing times, will I also need a RAID Controller for this?

Im also trying to get to the £1000 mark, is there anyway I can loose the £90 without sacrificing performance?

I also dont need an OS, Monitor or any peripherals.

Excuse the silly questions, Im new to all this.

Thanks.

for a start, this motherboard is rather good.

are you really wanting that free copy of Modern Warfare? if not this will save £10

and this RAM is lots cheaper, same speeds and timings

most modern/decent motherboards have a onboard RAID controller, so thats not needed

Would I notice any difference using that? Not sure I explained very well - Im happy to spend the £1,108 but wondered if I'de gone overkill on any aspects.

In terms of noise - it will be very loud. Buy 2 Akasa Apache's and stick one on your intake and the other on the H-50. Providing you have a decent exhaust fan you will be sweet. If your temps are still too high then buy another Apache :)

Thanks :) so on the front i'd have one Apache and one standard fractal, and on the push-pull i'de have the same, and stick with the 140mm fractal fan on the roof?

I only have the one 120mm intake fan running on my Antec 300 and it's sweet. The basic theory is have a decent intake and exhaust fan, plus CPU cooler. See how it goes and add more fan's if necessary. My Antec 300 can take 2 x 120mm intake fans but I only use one as that's all I need :) You can always add another if needs be.

Okay, the case itself comes with two fans - so would I discard one, and use the other one for the Push-Pull config at the rear?

I would start off by only connecting one at the front, and one at the rear. Then watch your temps. If they seem too high then you can hook up another fan and see what effect it has. What im saying is experiment.. Do you intend to Overclock?? If so then you might want to hook up the extra fan(s) but what im saying is run with the bare minimum first and go from there. It's all about positive airflow inside your case.

Cool, Thanks for the replies guys.

Case comes with 2 * 120mm fans, one on front one on rear.

I moved my rear fan to the front. The fractal fans are extremely quiet put don't pull much air. I bought 2 * 140 fractals and stuck them in the roof, and put a 120 silent eagle in the rear. I am air cooling though, for an h50 set up you prob have enough fans.

I have heard that 1 fan is enough for the h50. If I was you, I would try the 140 in the roof, 2 * 120 at the front and put 1 120 on the h50 and experiment if it works best drawing air into the case or pulling it out.
