I put the CPU on the motherboard with little force and the right way around. I then lowered the lever and could hear all of the pins bending! Am I screwed?

if they are bent too much and some of them have snapped then yes and you dont get rma and cant get a free replacement because that was your fault but if they are able to be bent back then no your not screwed your just going to need to bend each pin as carefuly as you can back into place

This may be a very stupid question but I've just booted the Windows home CD so does that mean the CPU is fine?

Also I'm now installing windows, is there any way to check if I've totally built it right or if there's a few things I've missed?

HAHAH then what you heard was not stuff bending it was probably just the processor slipping into place i think your computer is fine if it is installing windows

Putting it blunt, you're not a nice person.

If you're booting fine, then you're prob good.
