I'm building my first gaming PC, and don't particularly have a big budget, so help is needed please.

I have gone for a Fractal core 1000 case so Mini Atx/Itx mobo's are the only option, and I need suggestions for everything else ( including OS)

My budget is about £400 and I don't want anything incredible, just to be able to handle most games at a reasonable rate.

Thanks a lot, really looking forward to doing it all, and ill probably be on here till the early hours requesting for help!

Is the built in graphics decent on that? Seen that you didn't add a GPU.

here is an Intel build... My idea is that you have enough left over, (might need to add £10-£20) to pick up a 2nd hand graphics card.. something like a GTX460 or equivalent

1 x Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £89.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-02050) £79.99
1 x ASRock H77 Pro4-M Intel H77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £67.99
1 x Toshiba (7K1000.D) 1TB SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA100) HDD £54.98

Food for thought.....Im liking the AMD build because the CPU has decent graphics built into it, but the Intel has an i3 and 1tb HDD........Hmmmm decisions

Just to make it even more annoying for you....

AMD build with a 120GB SSD... will be rapid :)

Or failing that, you could replace the SSD in this build with a 2TB.. maybe even 3TB hard drive :)

However.... You don't get the nice Socket 1155 upgrade path like you would with the Intel build... having the ability to go up to an i5/i7 is quite nice...

Hope you like!

EDIT: Up the Villa!

If further down the line I want to add a dedicated graphics card, will I be able to? Seriously thinking about getting this AMD setup...

Yes of course!

Idleman's build is very nice though :)

EDIT: that mobo says H61 but in the specifications lists H77?

EDIT: Up the Villa!
Up is the only way they can go at the moment ;)

May I ask why you are benchmarking to a 6670?

If further down the line I want to add a dedicated graphics card, will I be able to? Seriously thinking about getting this AMD setup...
Yes of course, I'd recommend getting a secondhand GTX 460 or something similar. My mate should be getting a set up similar to the one I specced you, and when it comes to upgrading he'll probably get a secondhand GTX 460.

We're all Villa aren't we? ;)

Hmmmmmm...Im buying each part one at a time, so i'll start with the PSU, that gives me more time to consider what to do in regards to AMD or Intel.

Leaning towards LukieBoi007's AMD setup, but will consider both.... keep them coming, cheers guys, really helpful
