Hi

looking at building a new PC

Things i have on my existing PC that i will reuse

GPU - 780ti
PSI - Seasonic X-Series 850w
Soundcard - Asus Xonar STX Essence
CPU Fan - Noctua DH-14

i think i need a new Case, Mobo and CPU

i have Samsung Green RAM, not really been keeping up to date with PC hardware last couple of years so dont know if this is still good

I want to get the best possible Mobo and CPU for around £500-£600, will pay more if need be.

Going to reuse my SSD which is 128gb and i might get a bigger one for storage too

Thanks

depending on the type of ram you have you may as well keep the current set up and buy a new cpu cooler to overclock it.

also it may be a good idea to express the reasons why you are thinking of an upgrade?

You have a good system, and I don't think you will benefit by moving to Haswell. If you want an i7 then maybe look for a 2nd hand i7 2700K.

I would just look at a new case, and i7 if you feel the need. Save your money for future cpu's such as Broadwell/Skylake etc.

As above, great system atm. Grab a 2nd hand i7 if you feel you need it or OC your current CPU if you haven't already! Samsung Green is probably some of the best RAM out there, so keep it. Otherwise a larger SSD sounds probably like the best upgrade right now. Maybe the MX100 512GB as they're a silly price? :p

Eeexactly, new case, braided cables, fancy LEDs and maybe a 2600k or 2700k and you're set.

Ok thanks, think il just get an SSD and a new case as i needed to use a hacksaw to get my 780ti to fit in hah

i only game and browse the web so would an i7 2600k be worthwhile?

what sort of case do people recommend

i have a haf 912 just now and its too small

i want one same size as HAF X, i dont really want to get that one as it looks the exact same as my existing one and i fancy a change

i would pay up to £150 for one

thanks
