My old build has died after about 5 years, previous being a core 2 duo system, the build will be used for gaming and video/photo editing plus filling out normal desktop duties. I was planning on using my old GTX260 GPU however i feel that will probably be well under this system's potential performance. Budget wise 1k is an absolute max, I need an OS And wish to keep the selected mouse. Can any better be done? All help in and input greatly recieved.

Thats fine, read mATX and ATX compatability for the mobo but can just ensure i get the ATX version not the mATX, really more interested in spec choice!

Yeah you'd have to get a mATX version of the motherboard, or choose a bigger case.

It's an OK spec, but that's a pretty sizeable budget and I've no doubt Doomedspeed will come up with something pretty spectacular for that sort of money ;)

The case specification at that competitor website is wrong, it will take a normal ATX board.

Ah I see, that explains my confusion.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Just another reason to buy from OcUK lol, at least you know what your getting.

Cheers for the help doomedspeed, i see you've dropped the ram and ssd down in size for the GPU, but from what i can tell it looks very solid. Then again I know little ;)

Na worries, dont put yourself down.

I just balanced it up a bit more..

I feel 120GB is a good amount for OS and few games (maybe) then the rest goes on the bigger mech drive.

8GB of RAM is fine for gaming, 16GB is way too much.

The colour scheme is pretty good too. :D

Fair enough! The ram and bigger SSD was specced for playing with video, I'll see how this fairs and upgrade in the future if needed, should be light years ahead of my dead core 2 duo system.
