Ok solved!! Put my mates cpu in worked straight away no issues with anything ! Guess ill be sending the CPU back tomorrow!

That's particularly unlucky - a faulty CPU is always a bugger to diagnose without spare components.

Thanks for concluding the thread - always useful to know what the fault was for future threads that might display similar issues or for searches.
