Ok so I bought a CPU, MOBO and RAM bundle.

Intel Core i5 4670K, Haswell, 3.4GHz, Quad Core, 6MB Cache
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro V2
Asus Z87-K, Intel Z87 Chipset
8GB Total (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance LP, 1600MHz

I have added :

4870x2
750w Zalman PSU
128gb SSD Kingston

I am having a lot of random issues.

First I tried installing XP 64 bit, it would format the hard drive and then randomly BSOD. Regardless of AHCI or IDE, so I ignored and shifted.

Started installing Windows 7 and randomly restarting and not picking up my ssd. It would also just turn on but nothing would come up on the monitor.

So I changed the PSU to a 1000w coolermaster from my pc upstairs.

This made booting and getting into the bios more consistant.

Now when I try installing Windows 7, I format the hard drive, it extracts the files, does it's restart but randomly cuts off. Sometimes it cuts off even before loading Windows 7 setup. It very random cutting off.

Temperature of the CPU is fine so I am not sure what is going on.

Sometimes when it sets up windows 7 and does the restart it cuts off. Then I go into the BIOS and I can no longer access the hard drive. So I move the HD to a different sata port and I can then access it.

I think tried on a normal mechanical hard drive but random cut offs still happening.

Ive doubled checked everything inside, everything is all connected so now what?

but simple but have you tried another sata cable

could always try off a usb stick but not really solving the restarting problem

other then that maybe a faulty board

I am really mad.

I purchased this as a bundle for the cpu, mobo and ram and it came overclocked to 4.2 or something.

Their cover letter ontop of the bundle specifically said to under no circumstances to touch the overclocking settings etc.

I have now just resorted to putting it all back to default and guess what, it's working perfectly fine.

It was their ****** bs overclock that has caused all these issues.

I am so angry at myself for not resorting to putting it back to defaults.

I am now thinking how to proceed. Keep shtum and use the damn thing as it is or tell them they wasted my effin whole day!

It's all working now!

Had to put everything back to default. Going to call the company tomorrow as clearly the overclocked bundle didn't work!
