Hi guys this is my first post and just wanted to show you the items I have ordered for my new build. Its took me a good 4-5 months to get the funds to save for this new beast so any harsh criticism wouldn't be greatly appreciated.lol I have all ready purchased the 1200W PSU Corsair Pro Series Gold and the MSI Big Bang Xpower II, Intel X79,

Asus VG278H 27" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor with NVIDIA 3D Vision 2.0 Glasses -
MSI HD 7970 Lightning 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i7-3930K 3.20GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor -
G.Skill RipJawsZ 32GB (8x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C9 2133MHz Quad Channel Kit
OCZ Vertex 3 240GB 2.5" SATA-3 Solid State Hard Drive (240G)
Corsair Obsidian 800D (6GB/s) Full Tower Case - Black
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate - Retail (GLC-00181)
Asus Xonar Essence ST Sound Card 1
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM
Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Wrath Wireless Headset
Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II 2.0 Speaker System
Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
LG BH10LS38 10x BluRay-RW / 16 x DVD±RW Lightscribe Drive
Bigfoot Killer 2100 Gigabit Gaming Network Card
AeroCool V12XT 4-Channel LCD Touch Panel Fan Controller 1
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (12g)

I know people are going to say why didn't I go for the 680 but up until my two 560ti's I always had ATI cards and was very happy with them. I have stuck with MSI for the motherboard and graphics cards because there products very well made and perform extremely well. I will be posting pictures of the build once I have all the components and have turfed the kids and the Mrs out for the day somewhere...lol:D

That is something I wasn't 100% with either as I have heard mixed reviews and opinions about it, I'm just looking for the smoothest online gameplay as possible and I'm willing to try it....

Thanks, I wanted to future proof it for at least three years and think I have done that.... Just need to find a decent desk now as the one I have is too small for the new build. Anyone recommend a good website for desks and chairs???

Perhaps I'm missing something.

Why this:

Asus VG278H 27" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen LED Monitor with NVIDIA 3D Vision 2.0 Glasses

with these:

MSI HD 7970 Lightning 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

I assume you'll still get the 120Hz but the Nvidia 3D aspect will be of no use.

Edit:

Isn't that also a PCI sound card and a motherboard with no PCI slots?

Edit 2:

Did you get the retail version of the BluRay drive so that you have some playback software?

Thankyou for bringing that to my attention I will need to look into changing the sound card, Doh. As for the monitor I wanted one as big as possible that could offer me 120Hz and a 2ms response time and this particular Asus monitor fit the bill. I already have the playback software I will be using...

No problem.

Wouldn't one of these monitors been suitable?:

Samsung S27A750D 27" 120Hz 3D Widescreen Ultra Thin LED Monitor - Glossy Black £419.99

Samsung S27A950D 27" 120Hz 3D Widescreen Ultra Thin LED Monitor - Glossy Black £459.99

At current OcUK prices they would have saved you a fair few quid on the Asus @ £523.99.
