Hey,

My budget for this build is around £850 but might be able to push it :)

I'm looking for a good pc too play games but i also enjoy using photoshop flash etc and sony vegas pro.

I would like it to include a SSD which im going to install my OS and games and main software.

Here is my ideas of what to get, but it's my first time so i dont know whats best so i thought i've come to the right place.

Cpu/Ram/Mobo Bundle - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-009-OB

Case - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-065-AN

PSU- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-013-CS

SSD - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-003-CS

HDD- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-168-SE

GFX Card - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-015-SK

What do you think, suggestions are greatly appreciated.

THANKS !!!

Possibly going to agree there, the Phenom Tri-Cores weren't well rated when they came out, not the best in price/performance ratings.

The Phenom quad 810 isnt a lot more than that 720 specced above, and then you'd be able to choose what motherboard you preferred. (Or could go for a faster Phenom quad, or an Intel setup)

so you suggest either phenom x4 or maybe intel i7 ? and if you no the cheapest way to get them would be appreaciated :)

I got my i7 rig for £858 with a 260 GTX and no SSD, so if you think the SSD is essential, and want a 275 GTX you'll need more like £900-£1000 imho

[My i7 rig reads as follows: i7, Gigabyte UD5, Patriot Viper 1600 DDR RAM, 260 GTX, Seagate 500MB HDD, OCZ 700W Modular PSU all squeezed into an Antec 300 - Its currently clocked at 4GHz and was SO simple to do]

Keep an eye on the "This week only" offers, if you don't need you PC right now you can save quite a bit of money that way ;)

cheers mate yeh, iv'e been trying to keep an eye out, and i get my GCSE results through soon soo if i do well i get more money to maybe change my build to a better one :P
cheers for the info.

Must admit, I'd ditch the SSD and spend money elsewhere.

What monitor have you got / are getting? No need for mega-GPU if you dont have a massive screen...

Those Barracuda 1.5Tb have a bad failure rate, I'd go for a Samsung Spinpoint F1 1Tb, doubt you'd be disappointed at the speed of that.

Or you could not get the Antec 300? NZXT Beta is exactly the same price and is a much better case. There's the CM Elite 335, the Dominator 690 and many others beside the Antec 300 which are better.

you sir are talking out of your ass.

The phenom Is tri cores were laughed at but the phenom II 720 when realeased was one of the best bang for buck chips there was.

so please back up your claims.

Have you connected the graphics card to the motherboard and connected a cable from the monitor from the graphics card?

my graphics card is connected to the mobo and it has two cables from the psu and i did connect my monitor.

i dont think the graphics card fan is blowing but two cables are connected to it from psu. does this mean no power is actually getting passed on?
