New build...no beep when starting up!

As above really. It all seems okay but does not beep on POST. The Mobo is an Asus P8Z68-V/Gen3 with 8Gb DDR3 and an i7 2700K. This board has all sorts of error LED's which could light up if there is an issue....none do so! Am I worrying about nothing? Don't working PC's beep once at POST!!!?

They should, but I bet you havent got a speaker attatched.

Can you get into the bios? Is all your hardware displayed correctly in there?

Not all do, some cases have speakers attatched, some mobo's have them solderd on, but most Asus boards dont.
Have a look on your mobo/ In the mobo booklet and see your case headers, see if there is a speaker output (should be 2 pins with 2 spaces in between [.][][][.], sort of thing)

Not always, sometimes the motherboard has a connection for a speaker in the bottom right hand corner with the other front panel conectors (LEDs, on/off switch, reset etc)
