Right, so I'm having an issue with my new build and it's driving me mad, I've literally tried everything that can possibly be tried.
I can't seem to get a video/display output on my new build, tried connecting via VGA, DVI & HDMI and so no luck. All cables connected correctly, all fans are spinning, LED's working etc, CPU fans working.
Steps I've taken so far:
- Tried using 2 different motherboards, same problem
- Tried switching PCI slots, with 1 card and 2
- Tried 2 different GPU's
- Tried different RAM
- Used 2 different PSU's, 1 fully working the other bought brand new yesterday
- stipped down bare and tested everything individually
- Reset CMOS/BIOS via battery pull, no luck
On the first board, when I powered on the CPU LED was a solid red and the system would power on, then power off for 2 seconds, then power on and stay on. I thought it was because a couple of the CPU socket pins were bent, but I straightened them out and same problem so I assume I broke it.
The second board powers on straight away with no issues, doesn't restart itself like the other one but still no display no matter what I do.
I have a feelings it's the CPU that's gone, but it was working before I transferred it to my new motherboard. I literally used the PC with the same CPU, turned it off, took the CPU out placed into new board and nothing.
Completely out of ideas guys, any advice or tips? It's driving me crazy!
