New build number of loops advice sought

Hi all,

I was hoping for some advice on a new build I'm looking to start in the coming weeks. I'm not sure whether to go for 2 or 3 loops as don't know how much heat each component outside of the GPU loop may contribute to the equation.

I'll be using a Caselabs TH10A chassis for the space it provides with the aim to provide water cooling to 2 EVGA Titan X Hydro Copper, the CPU and motherboard. Loop 1 in both scenarios will be for the Titan's cooled with 2 Alphacool quad rads.

Option 1

Loop 1 GPU loop

Loop 2
I7-5930k (or 5960x if price drops significantly)
1 x Alphacool UT60 Quad rad in push/pull

Loop 3
Asus X99 Rampage V extreme Southbridge and VRM blocks
1 x Alphacool UT60 Quad rad in push/pull

Option 2

Loop 1 GPU loop

Loop 2
I7-5930k (or 5960x)
Asus X99 Rampage V extreme Southbridge and VRM blocks
2 x Alphacool UT60 Quad rads in push/pull

Any thought or comments will be very much appreciated.

Option 2. Dont see the point going with all those rads though.

Giving your money to charity would be a better use than wasting it on a triple loop rig and/or that many quad rads.

Option 2 for sure. Many people would run a setup like yours with 1 loop so 3 is ridiculous.

I will say that you won't need 2 massive alphacool rads for the i7 and mobo. Frankly CPU cooling isn't very efficient (40 degree core/water differences are common), and as such there might be a couple of degrees to be gained in a 2nd huge rad.

Check out my project link in sig, two loops, 2x480 rads per loop, running all fans in push at low rpms.

Works well enough for me :)

Hi JP that's an amazing build you've put together and certainly gives me more than a few ideas on cable and tube routing.

I think I'll be heading down the 2 loop path as recommended by all so far.

Can I be cheeky and ask if you bought your TH10A case directly from Caselabs roughly how much you ended up paying in shipping, customs fees and tax etc?

Thank you

I bought direct and paid $677 for the case in my configuration and some extra bay mounts then $147 for FedEx and got lucky on customs as there were no extra fees.

Make sure you do a project log on here :)
