New build old Matrix Raid HD issue

I built a new PC but used my SSD and HDDs from my old system. This system had the SSD as a boot drive and 2 HDDs in Intel Matrix Raid. I have moved my SSD across fine with bios set as ACHI. I have just added the HDDs that were in matrix raid but I have not set raid in bios and only want to use them as ACHI drives. One drive seems to work fine but the other doesnt. When I go into disk management or any partition software it shows the drive as 2 drives (so 4 in total where there are only 3) which mirror the capacity of the old matrix raid. I can seem to get rid of this so that it shows as just the one hard drive. Help please.

Just this is a fresh windows install onto the SSD. Also in device manager it shows my SSD as a SCSI device. My first HDD as a SCSI device. And 2 further drives as Intel Raid 0 and Raid 1 - both SCSI devices. I only have 3 drives so not sure why it is doing this.

The Intel raid setup can be a bit of a pain if you want to reuse previously raided drives as individual drives. It seems to leave a signature or something on the drives which confuses the driver in the new install.

If possible the best option is to remove the raid on the old machine.

It is possible to deal with it after the fact - I had to do this the last time I rebuilt but I can't remember what I did....

I cant use the old machine. Do you have any idea how I wipe the HDs completely to remove the signature? I guess I may need to reinstall windows which I dont mind. Just want to be able to use the HD.
