Hey all, just received the parts for my new computer, with the following specs:

Intel Q6600 GO
Gigabyte X48T-DQ6
OCZ 2GB DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Platinum
HIS ATi Radeon 3870X2
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500Gb (x2)
Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7200S 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter
Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler (with extra NF-P12 fan)
Lian-Li PC-A70A Aluminium Tower Case - Silver
Thermaltake ToughPower 850W Modular PSU
Dell Ultrasharp SP2008WFP 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Logitech G5 Gaming-Grade Laser Mouse
Enermax Aurora Brushed Aluminium Keyboard - Silver
Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

First off, what do you think of the new system? Anything I shouldn't have got?

Secondly, is 2GB of DDR3 memory enough in Vista 64? I know 4GB of DDR2 is really necessary for Vista but I was hoping DDR3 might be different? Is it going to handle Vista and games such as Crysis ok with only 2GB? At the moment I can't afford to get the other 2GB but could do in a few weeks if necessary.

Sorry, i cant offer any answers, but this is something i'm very interested in too - planning a new build very similar to this one. Looks like a good spec to me. At the moment i'm swinging towards the MSI x48c that offers both DDR2 and DDR3 slots for cheap ram now, and faster ram when the prices of DDR3 fall. Anyone have this board?

Theres not really a whole lota difference performance wise from DDR3 & DDR2 at the moment, so personally I would say 4gb is worth getting IMHO. Otherwise its a nice build you got there :)

@ChrissyT88, from all that I have read and heard etc about dual ddr2/ddr3 mobos I would strongly advise against it, its best to get a good mobo with one or the other. The X48 comes in both DDR2 & DDR3 flavours so depending on personal preference & budget you can go either way :)
