New Build or possible upgrade £700 budget

Currently i have the following setup for my computer but because of reasons and the fact for some unknown reason this computer's display driver keeps stop responding i want to build a better computer given the budget of £700 if possible.

KFA2 GeForce GTX 670 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express graphics card
Intel Core i5-3570k 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W)
MSI Z77 MPower Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Cool Master Hyper 612S CPU Cooler
OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
 
that's a really decent rig and there's no reason to splash that sort of cash upgrading
imo, you should first try a driver uninstall + reinstall to fix the problem
 
agree

i agree with that statement, though i was told this problem could be my graphics card failing, but the main reason for building a new rig is so i could leave my old rig at my home whilst im studying away and for me for bring my new rig with me so i wouldn't have to drag the same rig around with me when i bounce addresses.

if not for building a new rig could you suggest maybe an upgrade? possibly another graphics card to fit in there with some ram?

You could always try and source a MATX/ITX case & motherboard 2nd hand? That would make it easier to move around!
 
How long have you been getting the message "display driver has stopped working but has recovered"?
Do you get this whilst gaming or just browsing/watching videos. I had a similar problem not so long back and it was bloody annoying. But then it just stopped doing it. But it was`nt the Nvidia driver and there was nothing wrong with my Gpu, which is an MSI 670 PE OC.
Have a look in your Event logs and see what it actually says.
 
happens mostly when i game and there's been instances where it's crashed my computer also... as for the event logs and i wouldn't know where or what im looking for/at.

What OS do you have?

Win 7: type Event Logs in the search bar in the start menu.

Win 8: go to the Apps screen, move your mouse to the top left corner and click on search, type in Event Logs.

Once you are in, click on system and scroll down to date and time of the last freeze you remember. Then see what is says.

Are all your mobo and Gpu drivers all up to date?
Have you tried different Nvidia drivers?
How often does this problem occur?
Is your Gpu OC'ed and is it still stable?
Is the Psu out putting enough voltages constantly?

Try and sort the problem first, before spending a lot of money, which may be unnecessary.
D/load and install Whocrashed. Next time it happens, it may give you more info on the cause.

this problem only occurs at particular times when i game, i've uninstalled my nvidia driver and reinstalled it, all my drivers are up to date, my gpu isn't overclocked as i dont know how to overclock and i'm not sure if the psu is outputting enough voltage.

i've installed this software so next time it crashes i'll see what it says.

as for saving money it's not really a problem as i set this money aside for this sort of thing, so it's primary use is for this purpose.
 
ok i repeated what usually makes my computer crash and again, it crashed. So i loaded 'whocrashed' and found this report

This sounds more like a driver of software issue, not hardware.
Does it happen with all games or just certain ones?

just certain ones, i'd try the fresh windows install but i don't have a windows installation disk, a friend installed it into this rig for me.

I read something yesterday that led me to believe the problem may be my power supply.
 
Next time you play one of these games, try monitoring temps and voltages of the Gpu.
You can do an OS install using a flash drive, if you have one.
And, if you think your Psu is at fault, you need to try another unit.

My apologies im terrible at these sort of things but i wouldnt know how to reinstall using a flash drive or how i would get my hards on an OS.

And by another unit do you mean another powersupply?
