My apologies im terrible at these sort of things but i wouldnt know how to reinstall using a flash drive or how i would get my hards on an OS.

And by another unit do you mean another powersupply?

If you have a flash drive, you can d/load a Windows OS ISO file(whichever one you have) and install it on the drive using the tool in the link.

I was thinking more like borrowing one from a friend or family member, just to see if it is your Psu is at fault.

In that case, I'd recommend a fresh install of windows, if you have a flash drive. I f that does'nt solve it then maybe think of getting a new Psu.

k thx, also thinking now of upgrading the ram but unsure of which to get. also does my motherboard have the capability to use 2 graphics cards i was thinking about getting the gtx 770 or would this be a bad idea?

I would stick with the ram you. If you think there is something wrong with it, d/load and run memtest, this will show if it has any errors or is at fault.
I'm in the same boat as you, in regards a Gpu upgrade. I have the MSI GTX670 PE OC card and thinking of upgrading to a 280X. But it would'nt be much of a performance increase to warrant the extra money. So, I will properly hold on and try and get a 290. If not, just get another 670
It would be cheaper to sli the 670 but would mean getting a decent 750W psu.

i have doubts about my ram due to my streaming, i often stream online with friends and my fps constantly drops to 25-30 fps and was told by a friend that this could be due to my ram as my internet connection is decent. i'll run memtest now.

Is your Cpu OC'ed? Should be able to get a decent 4.4-4.5Ghz with that cooler.

no it's not OC'ed as i don't know anything about overclocking.

memtest completed: Pass: 1 no errors found

going to attempt a full system re-install but as to where i could find an OS online i havent a clue

any recommended places? preferably win 7 home premium/ultimate
