Hi all,

new here so apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I have built a new rig and I'm having an issue installing Windows.

When I boot from the Windows disc the PC loads the setup files and just as the Windows logo appears the PC turns off and restarts loading the setup files before once again cutting out in the exact same place each time - tested the disc on another PC and it's working fine.

Obviously so far I've not even got to the point of selecting a target drive to install windows on but I've swapped out the SSD for standard HDD just in case but still no success.

I've just used one stick of RAM so far and run memtest without any errors. I've removed the battery on the mobo for a few mins and also used a jumper on the CMOS CLR and I still get the same issue. The processor and graphics card are both definitely working from testing on another machine.

I've also entered the BIOS and all temps are fine and the memory is set at the right voltage. I've also tried changing between IDE and AHCI with regards to the SSD but to no avail.

Does anyone have any other ideas because I'm at a loss with it all at the moment? incredibly frustrating.

Setup is;

GA-Z68XP-UD3
Intel i3 2120 3.3ghz (to be upgraded to i5 once BIOS is flashed to support Ivy Bridge)
G-Skill 8GB RAM (2 X4GB)
Corsair 430W CX Builder
Radeon 6670 1GB
120GB SSD / 320GB HDD
