Hi All,

About to order the following parts, pleaecan you review see if it looks ok, compatable and not overkill on any of it.

Cheers in advance:

Case Fractal Design Define R3 Black Pearl Gaming Case.

CPU Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155
Processor - Retail

Cooling Corsair Hydro Series™ H100

Mobo Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

RAM Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

GFX HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

PSU OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent

HD1 OCZ Agility 3 60GB 2.5" SATA-3 Solid State Hard Drive

HD2 Samsung SpinPoint F4 EcoGreen 2TB SATA-II 32MB Cache

DVD drive LG GH22NS70 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black)

the cooler is massive overkill. go for the silver arrow if you want a beast of a cooler that isnt stupidly priced. yes its not quite as good as the H100, but the performance difference between the two doesnt warrant the price difference.

i would also avoid fractal design cases. there have been many threads complaining of really poor build quality on them
*edit*
is it the midi tower or XL tower you've got sitting in your basket? (i'm trying to work out your budget)

also, could you tell us what your planning on using the computer for. it looks like its a gaming PC but i just want to check

How's this for a starting point to tweek with, would have put the Silver Arrow cooler, but it's never in stock.

This is Guessing your budget is around the 1k mark.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah, looking to spend about 1k. Most of the list is OCUK sourced, couple of products from competitor order come in just under 1k.

Interesting about the case, what other suggestions do people have? Keep in mind it would need to be able to suppoer the cooler rad.

I know the cooler is a bit overkill, but i have seen how easy it is to fit and how much lower the temps with one is so will probably still go with it.

I prefer ATI to Geforce, nice card linked reaper but ill likely stick to the ATI.

Stulid, do i really need a different PSU? this one maybe? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-116-AN

It's a gaming rig. Occasional LAN party.

Cheers all,
Achilles

My favourite cases are the HAF 932 Advanced.

and this one, looks Ideal to drop a dual rad in the bottom drawing cool air in from the under the case and out the rear and top ;)
