Hi all really need help here :(

I done my first build recently but didnt get time to use it at all ! Windows was installed and that was it! I have been working since.

There is no GPU as I'm waiting on 290, its running on board graphics.

I got time today so went about tidying the cables and putting sides/front back on , I also got a new IPS Monitor. I connected that up and booted etc. I'm getting lines of different colours flashing on the monitor, during boot/bios and desktop. It doesnt boot as quick as it did the first time. This happens using VGA cable and also HDMI cable. The monitor would go black then back on then off and keep repeating. The PC itself might reboot then. Its a nightmare to get to the desktop at the moment.

EDIT : I'm posting this from my laptop which is connected to the new IPS monitor and there is no lines/flashing blocks etc.

I really dont know what this could be ?

The spec is

i5-4670k
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP
G.Skill Ares 2133mhz 2x4Gb
Noctua NH-D14
Corsair AF120 x3
Corsair AF140 x2
Samsung 120 SSD
Seagate 1TB HDD
BeQuiet Power Zone 650W Modular PSU

Try removing the Cmos battery, leave it out for about 15 minutes and replace.
Was everything working fine with your other monitor?

It was flickering abit and then the screen would go all coloured lines. But this was random I couldnt get this to recreate when I wanted to.

I'm going removing the Cmos battery there and trying again.

Do you have all the latest drivers for your mobo installed?
What happens if you connect the system to your TV, if possible.

I won't be able to connect it to TV for the moment. I installed drivers from the Gigabyte CD that came with mobo. Oh and also when it was fine yesterday with side panel off I ran Prime 95 awhile to see if my CPU cooler is behaving the way it should and max temps were 49c . There was no issues with screen at that time.

Clear CMOS

Completely remove all the hardware from your motherboard, and take the motherboard out of your case. Remember to disconnect the PSU connectors before you start to remove stuff.

Place the motherboard, now without CPU or battery on the box that your motherboard came in. It is a non-conductive and non-static surface.

Inspect the CPU socket area. I doubt that there is anything problematic there, but since the mobo is naked have a visual inspection for bent or misaligned pins.

Press start button for a couple of seconds to discharge the caps of any residual current.

Hold down the Clear CMOS button for a slow count of 3. Look in your manual if you are not sure where it is.

Then with the bare minimum of hardware assembled in this order.

CPU and cooler.

One stick of ram in the furthest slot from the CPU.

One VGA

No hard drive.

No optical drive.

Keyboard and mouse.

VGA power connectors.

12 Volt CPU connector (8 Pin)

24 Pin power supply connector.

Plug the PSU into the wall socket.

Power up your system.

If that doesn't work you have an issue with a core component.

If you have no on board you can check for post with a keyboard by pressing the num lock and caps lock keys they should flash on and off upon press if there is a post.

I booted it there again after clearing CMOS . Before I booted I removed secondary HDD/

Computer booted no problem, advised me BIOS has been reset. I'm now at desktop looking at HWM and everything looks ok. The screen hasnt done anything weird after about 10 minutes and its connected through HDMI

Quick update on this.

Everything is running grand now, side panels are on and not 1 sign of anything happening on the screen

Its even running 4.5GHz @ 1.29v with 69c highest temp reached while running XTU/Prime 95. I need to fine tune this but I'm only learning so far.
