New Build Problem =[

E8400, ASUS P5N-E Sli 2gb ram corsair 550w 8800 gtx

first booted the pc and saw the bios and post screens etc, restarted the pc and now does not detect the monitor at all, tried 2 different monitors to no avail, along with having to pick the package up im not a very happy bunny anything you can suggest would be great.

youre problem is not the monitor but with the mobo...you need to update the bios to support the wolfdales else it will boot the first time ok and then do nothing after that. Im afraid the only way to sort it out is to get a 775 CPU and update bios to latest rev and then put youre new chip in.

I know how you feel had the exact same problem with mine.

i have this problem, but me and my housemate brought exactly the same PC he does not have the same problem? we both have the same bios version.

have you plugged the extra cables into the 8800GTX properly?

yes tried every possible thing with my gfx card swapped the pci-e power around changed the dvi ports about different monitors and nothing. my friends thinks its an RMA job as my house mate got the exact same pc and no problems

Your best bet is to try another CPU, whoever lends you one is probably an absolute legend. I'm sure if someone helped you out they would get £20 in the back pocket?

sorted finally, housemate lucky lent me his e6, so all good and sorted.
