New Build Problems..included some vids

Just put together a new system -

-i7-950
-Asus P6X58D-E
-Corsair Dominator GT 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C8 2000MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMT6GX3M3A2000C8)
- x2 HIS 6870 1024

Running on XP SP3 for now, will get upgraded soon. Checked on alternate monitors and tested the PCIe slots. Ran Memtest86, it freezes at 7% on version 3.5 but 3.4 seem to work fine.

Symptoms
After booting the PC, was getting random display crashes even though the PC was still running but the display was blank. I've isolated it as one of the gfx cards but not sure if I need to check anything else before sending it back to OCs. Also did notice a blue screen error on one boot but was to quick for me to gather any info, has not happend since. Any help appreciated.

Hi there,

Are you running the RAM at the rated speed and voltage (altered within the BIOS) or is it running at default settings?

Also, may I ask what PSU you are using?

Did you do a fresh install of windows XP for the new system?

Hi,

Everything is running at default/stock speeds including the ram.

The PSU is XFX 850W Black Edition MPS and it was a fresh install tried with 2 new drives

Ok, in that case you will want to have a look at what speed the RAM is actually running at. Using simple software like CPU-Z (check the "memory" tab) will allow you to determine this quickly.

If you haven't changed the RAM settings at all then it will most likely be running at 1066MHz and 1.5V, when it should be seeing 1.65V and a much higher frequency.

The PSU is a very good one, but can I confirm that all four 6pin PEG connectors are connected to the graphics cards and the both the 24pin and 8pin motherboard power connections are in place?

All the PEG connectors are hooked up, x4 6 pins for the graphics cards and also the 24 pin and the 12v 8 pin connector for the CPU.

There were a couple of frequencies that CPU-Z highlighted, NB & DRam frequency. Took a screen cap to help illustrate.

Aye, that screenshot shows your RAM (rated at 2000MHz) is currently running at 1066Mhz (533MHz with Double Data Rate).

If I were you I would immediately go into the the BIOS - increase the DRAM voltage to 1.65V, set the timing to what they are rated at and increase the frequency to around 1600MHz (I'm pretty sure you won't be able to hit 2000MHz without overclocking the CPU - via increased the BCLK).
