Hi Folks.

I have just built a new gaming rig and seem to have all sorts of problems. First off here is the spec.

Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz Socket 1155 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor
Coolermaster HAF X
Coolermaster GX 750W PSU
Be Quiet Dark Rock Advanced C1
Corsair Vengeance 6gb (3x2GB) DDR3 1600Mhz Memory
MSI GeForce GTX 570 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Asus P67 Sabertooth Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **
WD 1TB 3.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Caviar Black Hard Drive - 7200rpm 64MB Cache

I’m running Win 7 64bit SP1

So it went together fine but now the CPU fan monitor in the BIOS is saying 600rpm (Is this really low?) and Windows isn’t detecting my GFX card as a GTX 570. Even the Nvidia software doesn’t detect it?

I was thinking maybe the PSU was not powerful enough but after reading a few bits n bobs it should be fine.

Also the other fans on the case are a bit on the slow side at 250rpm!

Any Help will be very much appreciated.

PSU should be good enough.
Fan speeds are probably fine at idle. My cpu fan varies 0 to 1100rpm with PWM.
You have triple channel ram for a dual channel board? may be running in single mode.
Remove all graphic drivers and set to VGA, reboot and reinstall Nvidia drivers or search on the web for later ones.

Thanks nkata

In work at the mo so ill try that when i go home. I did get a CPU fan error msg when i booted up this morning. dont know if its to do with BIOS setting tho.

How would i find out if the RAM is running single?

Thanks again.

You don't have to check, the 3 modules you have in a dual bank system will be running in single channel mode. To enable the dual channel memory you'll need to insert 2 of the modules in dual channel configuration, so one module in each bank.. For example, insert one module in DIM_A2 and the other in DIM_B2.

This means of course you have a spare module left over unused. Best thing is to check the systems performance in single channel mode using 6gb and then try 4gb using dual channel..

Alternatively, see if you can hunt down a single 2gb stick of the same type of RAM. Then you'll have 8gb in dual channel. Just insert the 4 sticks in the four slots. :)

As for the "Fan error Message", this is normal when the cpu fan has dropped under the RPM monitor. You could lower or disable this under the Monitor tab in EFI. Change the CPU fan Speed Low Limit to "ignore" or lower limit but you might want to check why it's so low rather than setting this. The same menu under this option allows you to set the CPU profile speed. Check this isn't set manually to the speed you have quoted or set to Silent as this will drop the speed. Change the setting to Standard or set to a more comfortable speed if sticking to the Manual option.

Cheers AH ill give that a go.

I'm worried the GTX 570 is broken. I installed drivers and i get code 43 and have lots of weird dots on the screen. any thots?
