New Build - Problems wont BOOT! need help!

Random Troubleshooting.

Possibly shorting on the case... try building out of the box on the anti static bag the mobo came in. Minimal components.

Do you have an old PCI graphics card handy?

Do you have another PSU to try?... Your Hiper 580 is not one of the famously dangerous ones, but it can't hurt to try.

Is the HSF plugged into the correct CPU_FAN header.

Are there any jumpers incorrectly set?

Remove all but the POWER_SW from the mobo header, once had a jammed reset switch.

thanks for the replies,

yes i will try outside again today of the case,
how would i go about starting the motherboard with a power switch?

last time i did it, i had the pc case near so i could use the power switch to start it, is there another way?

also, yes i tested my parts in my uncles pc, but that was on the old system i was having problems with, now all my parts are new and i still have problems, aswell as no signal to the monitor!

tried my old 17inch vga one, still no signal too.

i might try and borrow my uncles pci-e card to test it with again,
i think he sold his pci one,

i will have ago again this afternoon, but id like to find anyone with a simular setup and any simular problems?...

Good idea about building outside the case, but the outside of an antistatic bag is conductive, and should be avoided!!

If you look in the motherboard manual there will be two pins on the front header set that relate to the on switch. I think you short them (with a screwdriver or other metal thing) if you want to start your PC without the on switch.

What the blue blazes! This is so obviously true in retrospect... the bag is constructed of conducting threads to dissipate static.

*hangs qualified Electronic Engineer head in shame*

On the carboard box then!

Just touch the two power switch pins on the header with the end of your screwdriver to connect them - this is the same as pressing the power switch and a lot more convenient if you're building outside the case.
Edit: OK I missed this response slightly further up the page. Late to the party as always ;)

yep i keep checking to make sure everything is connected... but...

still no go,

i still get 1 long bleep, (which isnt in the manual)
i heard my uncles pc bleep, and its definitly 1 long,

i also stole his graphics card to test mine with, but still...
no display/post.

it even got really hot, and it wasnt on for long.

im guessing.... its going to have to be a RMA job.
i will test outside the case, but far as i know everything should work :(

Are you using a dedicated PCI-E power connector from the PSU to the Graphics Card?

I was having the same probem with same board and eventualy found out I had a duff PCI-E cable. Have you got any spare cables to try.

Have you got any further? I've decided it must be a fault with the mobo. I've tried everything suggested here and no luck. I'm more worried now I'll damage something else removing & adding different components. I don't want to ruin 2 good PCs trying to rescue a lost cause.

thanks for the last two replies :)

im going to try and take it out of the case today, and give it one more last shot, if its no good... i will have to send it back.

i will try that pci-e cable, as i have two on the psu,
i will also try my old psu also ;)

but yes, this is so annoying, and if i have to RMA will take even longer :(

i'll let you know today how it goes!

guess what guys....!!!!!!!!

i found the whole problem from when it first started!!!

i been having problems for the past 2 months, with my old amd build.
i finally... after my 4th motherboard... found the problem.

and its not even the motherboard!!!!!
after all this hassle...

turns out from when i had problems with my old pc, i bought a new PSU to replace my Hiper... its the dam PSU!!!! the 620w the new one!!!

i built it again outside its case, and tested my old pc again!
BAM FIRST TIME BOOTS INTO BIOS!!! - OMFG!

tested the new PSU! bam! 1 long bleep!!! no boot!

you have no idea how happy, but at the same time angry!
as i have spend... over... i dunno... £700 for a new system... and i didnt even need too!!!

specially the PSU!

but before i get carried away, now i have to contact overclockers about the problems, and the PSU. aswell, as putting it back together!

hope this helps others, and they find there problems aswell fixed.
but dam! never thought it was the PSU! - as it was a new one from here!
