New Build Problems

Hi

i've just bought a DFI Lanparty NF4 D Ultra, X1800 XT, 3700XP CPU on a 450 watt PSU with 24 pin connector. Everything went fine put mobo/cpu into the case added all bits no probs.

However when i come to press the on switch the machine doesnt start. Both the motherboard lights come on and for a split second the PSU fan comes on as does the system fan and Video card fan but then everything dies although motherboard lights stay on.

I really can't figure out what's going and why its not working any ideas much appreciated

by the sounds of it, it could be a power issue or simlar - double check all required power connectors are in place.

Try removing all expansion cards bar the video, and disconnecting all the drives.

Try booting at that point, if it gets to the bios then turn off, add the expansion cards and drives one at a time, trying to boot after adding each one, that should help pinpoint the problem depending on if it works/if it doesn't, and if it gets stuck when you add a particular device.
