New Build Problems

1- my cpu temp is at 80 degrees idle.
2- CPU speed is @ 800 MHz

Dont want to up the CPU to the set speed 3.4 (amd 3.4 965) until the temps cool dwn.
Using a Corsair H50 CPU cooler....

Help please.

My first inkling would be to reseat the heatsink, but as its the H50 - did you connect the pump power connection (3 pin fan connector that comes from the big black block that goes on top of the CPU) to a constant 12V plug (like off the PSU) or a mobo connection with varying voltage?

i put the heat sink on a different one on the mobo and put the fan one on the radiator on the CPU one

Ok, try connecting the pump one to your PSU (hopefully you have something like this kicking about).

If the H50 pump receives anything other than constant 12V, it doesn't work well.
