Hey all. Built a new PC for a mate, core i5 750, 4gb of DDR3 ram, Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H. Problem is while he's listening to music on it the music keeps jumping/juddering. I can't place the problem myself, any suggestions?

They're MP3s, and he's using iTunes. Never had a problem with it on his old PC. Forgot to mention, he's running Windows 7 Professional, and he's using an external firewire sound card, that required the drivers to be downgraded to legacy versions. Could this be an issue?

That's the next step I think, but he needs iTunes for his iPod. I've monitored the usage while he's listening to music, and there's no odd spikes or anything when it happens. Very odd

It's a brand new TB hard drive. Bad sector is possible I guess, I'll check next time I can get in there
