Hey all. Built a new PC for a mate, core i5 750, 4gb of DDR3 ram, Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H. Problem is while he's listening to music on it the music keeps jumping/juddering. I can't place the problem myself, any suggestions?
They're MP3s, and he's using iTunes. Never had a problem with it on his old PC. Forgot to mention, he's running Windows 7 Professional, and he's using an external firewire sound card, that required the drivers to be downgraded to legacy versions. Could this be an issue?
That's the next step I think, but he needs iTunes for his iPod. I've monitored the usage while he's listening to music, and there's no odd spikes or anything when it happens. Very odd

I've got an ipod as well but very rarely do i listen to music using it. I only use it to transfer music vids pics and apps to my ipod touch. I normally just use WMP for playing stuff if i do play any music on my pc.
Has he got a new HDD or is it an old one from a previous pc? possible bad sector or corrupted music file?
