Hi, I built a new system on Wednesday and I'm having problems with it cutting off. I was looking forward to exploring the world of overclocking as well.
As it stands I have not tried overclocking it...
MSI P67A-GD53 (B3)
i5-2500k
Corsair XMS 3 PC3 - 12800
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Advanced
Gainward GTX 570 Phantom
Antec High Current Pro HCP-750
Asus Xonar DX
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
When I was installing Windows updates the computer cut off and restarted it's self(a click then everything lost power). Since then I have managed to install all the updates and it runs fine when Im on the net and listen to music.
When I run a stress test in FurMark the computer cuts off as soon as it starts. Also tried to play Crysis 2 but again the system cuts as the actual game play is loading.
Ran Prime95 stress test and memtest-86 both of which didn't have any problems. I used a PSU tester to check PSU and that got the all clear.
I turned off automatic restart but I dont get a blue screen, just a click then system losing power and then restarts its self.
I tried running the system with my old GTS 250 and everything runs fine including Crysis 2 and Furmark. Some one mentioned it sounds like a power issue, I take it the GTS 250 would draw less power than the GFX 570? I don't want to just jump to the conclusion it's the GFX 570 and send it back when it could be something else.
Anyone have any ideas, thanks.
