Hi, so today I've been building my new kit that I ordered the other day, 4670K, 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport and Gigabyte Z87-D3HP motherboard. I'm coming across a really weird problem though. The PC will only boot with 1 memory stick in either Slot 1 or Slot 2. Neither slot 3 or 4 work, and if I have a RAM stick in them the PC just recycles every 5 seconds. What's going on?

I've been looking around the net, bent CPU pins can cause this but I honestly couldn't have been more careful when I was installing the CPU so I really doubt I've bent anything. 212 Evo cooler isn't installed overly tightly. What could be the problem? It's exactly my luck that something goes wrong, any time I've ever ordered something from OCUK there's always something that's faulty.

So are any of the socket pins bent?

Have you ruled out a faulty RAM stick by trying each stick in turn in all the slots?

Try a BIOS update.

Try a clearCMOS.

I have no TIM cleaner so if I take the heatsink off I'm screwed until I can get my hands on some. Might aswell just take it off anyway though, I'll come back and say but I honestly doubt it.

Will try a Bios update, already cleared the CMOS a couple of times (Jumper and removing battery).
