New Build (Returning to PC)

Well the build is still very much in the planning stage right now but it will be ordered in the next week or so ...... I'm very grateful for the input guys so thank you

Might have to put a little rush on it (without the Mrs seeing) as things are starting to go out of stock :D

Actually, just checking the 5080's, the MSI card appears to be out of stock and the Palit I specced is up £40.

Regardless:

If you're still open to the idea of M-ATX here's a variant with a nice wood accented case, the B4 can be positioned vertically or horizontally too which is pretty cool:

My basket at OcUK:
Total: GBP2898.75 (includes delivery: GBP0.00)

I'm pretty sure everything listed will fit but you need to be careful with how it's configured, so double check.

I'd normally specify the Sapphire B850M Nitro + or Pulse for M-ATX but there's no stock, could be worth spending another £30-40 on something better but the above would be fine.

There's also the Lian Li A3 which is an excellent case with a few more visual options:

Total: GBP284.79 (includes delivery: GBP0.00)

TBH I've actually taken a liking to the Lian Li Vector V100R mini, I looked into it more and I really am liking the design and with my concerns about airflow and cooling put to rest I'm definitely leaning that way

I'm not completely sold on the monitor but its the black version of the one @tamzzy recommended, having a white one will completely mess with my OCD

There's always this:

Lower refresh rate but I don't think there's too much between them otherwise (do double check), to be honest at 4K in AA and AAA games 240hz is a bit of a tall order anyway.

165hz is ample for me personally, it's what my ultrawide runs at.

go for the RGB, you know you want to :)

Fair enough.

Still, I don't think I'd fancy paying almost £150 more but it's certainly not something I'd be disappointed by.

Frankly, I'd be more inclined to get the white version you listed and pop it on an arm, there's barely any white showing on the screen itself.

Edit: As an aside I just looked up my PHILIPS Evnia 34M2C6500-34, seems to be a Gen 4 and is currently available for a little over £400 (which is about what I paid for it).

Lovely screen, 3440x1440P so easier to run and depending on the games you're into I find the extra FoV much better than a higher resolution. That said, I also run a 4K 65" TV and swap between the two depending on what I'm doing -- couch vidya for RPG's, platformer/adventure type stuff and nearfield at the desk with the Philips for anything I'd use a M&K for like FPS/RTS/Sim etc.

Nice changes.

Parts update in cost and availability daily, it's really best to get in fast with anything we specify.

I think I would still lean toward the Lian Li RS Hub, I know one or two have had some coil while complaints on here lately but that can happen with anything you buy unless there's a specific flaw.

Good rule of thumb for finding PSU's for the OP: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...RB6Xt6JWkc/edit?gid=1078495601#gid=1078495601

Don't use it entirely as gospel, it is useful and a strong reference point but you never know when a company might change OEM/design without being entirely honest.

The reason I like the RS Hub is largely because it has an actual USB hub internally which can be useful for adding certain things, usually bling related. It also has rotational power connector, so if you're close to a wall or tight on space it can help with your layout:

i know it's usually random, but two in a short span of time sets alarm bells ringing though. might be a bad batch going through...

Aye, sometimes best to err on the side of caution and the PSU is probably the biggest PITA to deal with if it has a fault.
