New Build seems a bit jerky...?

if this is the ram you are running OCZ Special OPS 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit then its not running at the 1600MHz go into bios and change it to that and also look at the timmings to make sure they match to what is on your ram change if its not correct and that should more than likely sort your problem.

try f2 instead sould give you a option if my memory is any good lol..i think you see a few optons one should be something like advance or bios someting click that and hopefully that get you into the bios, without me having that board i, doing it from when i has a asus.

Take battery out of board clear CMOS with jumper power on and off put battery back should now be able to get into bios

or try this first before you do the battery 1.

Remove the power cord from the power supply, wait thirty seconds, press Power On button to clear any remaining charge, clear CMOS for five seconds, reattach the power cord, power on the system

look in your motherboard manual it show you where it is,its just a little jumper you just have to move it across 1 for 5 secs then put it back and follow above advice.

yes m8 and also look at your timmings to see they match what it states on the ram, hopefully you be all sorted then :)

it automatically changed the timings I think. Before it was 9 9 9 20 and when I just went into it now it is 9 9 9 24 which I believe to be correct :)

Thanks for all your help, appreciate it!

Unfortunately, even after setting the ram settings and using the pc cor a while now, it is still as jerky as ever :(

Really disheartening as I'm finding myself wanting to use my old laptop instead because the jerkyness just makes it unenjoyable to use :/

Could be a host of things :

Is the hard drive getting thrashed?

Check the system components in the control panel and check if you have any driver missing.

Check the even logs and see if some process is spamming the log or not firing.

Run cpu-z to check on the status of the core hardware.

what mode is the sata running? ide? ahci?

Oh yeah, maybe it's not a rev 3 board. if it's not, ask OcUK for a new board.

Not sure what you mean by thrashed.
All drivers are fully updated.
The board came bundled with the processor so there wouldn't be any compatibility issues.

Will run cpu-z, what am I looking for on it that would signal the problem?
And how would I know which sata mode I am running, and which one should it be for my parts?

Well just been in the BIOS. The SATA settings were AHCI, tried changing it to IDE but not noticed any difference. Is IDE the correct setting anyway?

Got CPU-Z, and everything is being recognised and seems to be fine.

A couple of things you could try:
1) Keep the "Task Manager" open whilst you are using your PC and see if any processes are hogging your CPU the next time its jerky.
2) Run the Windows Experience Index (I know its not a great benchmark, so no flaming pls). This should give you a score between 5 and 8 for the main components in your PC - if you get any 1s or 2s then it could help to narrow down the source of the problem.

When you say jerky, do you mean laggy to open or something to do with the display? If display then try the latest Nvidia drivers or the ones that came on disc.
