So recently I upgrade my computer with the following parts.

* i7-4970k (4GHz stock)
* Asus Z97-K
* Corsair H80i GT

How the installation all went fine, nothing wrong there, but I noticed today in HWMonitor that there was a bit of a discrepncy, essentially, it was informing me that I had a very high motherboard temperature of 116c, obviously an error as it was fine on Corsair Link and on Speccy.

So I did a restart, checked the bios just to be sure and everything was fine. I then proceeded to install the latest BIOS Firmware/Update, but after I did so, it no longer reads my fan speeds of my new h80i and I'm not sure why.

Any ideas?

To be honest with any temp monitoring tool that has lots of categories it's difficult to know which sensor relates to which reading. Some of them will not be genuine, and some will not have relevant names.

The best thing to do is check the motherboard temperature in the BIOS, then boot up and see which one most closely correlates.

I used to get the same problem with HWmonitor when I ran my old rig.
I had the Asus sabertooth 990fx board and H80i and HWmonitor gave me a high reading but corsair link gave the temps as normal.

also If you have the motherboards software installed or corsair link then running HWmonitor you will get false readings.

As above try another program.

I did do so and my temps are fine with other programs such as corsair link, speccy and so on.

But now after the BIOS upgrade, my BIOS is not reading my fan speeds of my h80i GT and I'm not 100% as to why. If I change the speed of my fan to be at 100% speed, it will read them fine, it's just not reading them at the lower speeds and then once I get onto my actual desktop and launch a program such as Corsair Link to look at the speed of my fans, it doesn't see it there either.

The thing is also, I don't know what BIOS version I was on previously either, so I don't really know what is going on, as it's quite strange to downgrade a BIOS, I thought BIOS/Flash upgrades are supposed to increase the usability/performance of a Motherboard and not make it worse.

Previously the Corsair Link program worked fine and had no issues, here is a picture as an example:

Have you got the fans plugged into the H60 or the motherboard? I think maybe a problem with your new BIOS maybe reading the fan speed on a single header.

The H80i GT is plugged into the CPU header and the fans that are connected to the H80i GT are plugged into the Y splitter coming off it.

It was working fine when I first connected it and was reading the speeds fine, but after I did a BIOS update, that all went away, but I don't know. It's like it can't read the lower speeds for some strange reason.
