New build - some boots have no display?

I didn't buy from OCUK this time, I bought it from the place that has the name like what you do to a bar code... Ha. They had a sale on all the bits I wanted so was a no brainer.

Sorry, edited after you posted, can also be fault with CPU, buggie onboard GPU, can happen, though most I see are faulty ram controllers
Not sure their RMA... Though I do know Asus "invest" heavily in them :D

Well of it turns out to be a glitch integrated GPU I could live with it as my 980ti will be going in anyway. Ram would be the preferred fault as that's a 2 min fix.

I'll be in touch tomorrow, thanks for the help, guys.

If it's the CPU and the onboard GPU being at fault, you don't know what else was an error in the fabrication etc etc .
Hopefully it's the ram

This morning, I have it connected to a different display via HDMI and so far, no issue. Have powered it up and down into the BIOS several times and no issues. It also seems to POST faster and without the flicker of white noise. Trouble is, I don't know if perhaps the RAM wasn't seated right etc, or if it was DP all along, or something else. I'll try DP now and see how it gets on.

Update1: DP with this lead/screen works fine. Seems to be either a config issue between the x34a and this board, or the fact I was using a 4 gang extension. I'll try without tonight.

Looks like you're zeroing in on your problem.

The extension could be factor - it's amazing how many innocuous problems have turned out to be due to poor quality or failing extension cables. But you have a few other things to definitively rule out first.

Best of luck - hope it turns out to be an easy fix.

Thanks. Windows is installed now, and I haven't had a single issue. I'm confident enough to say that there's probably not a fault with the new system, as it has been flawless so far. Thankfully I only had it plugged into that particular extension as it was conviniently placed near the work bench. I'll not be using that when it's fully up and running.

Had it on and off all day for software updates, installations, and other tweaks and not once have I had an issue. Let's see what happens tonight. I'll make sure to connect to the surge protected box that I normally use. I'll temp install my GPU also to ensure that that works fine. Once I'm happy, I need to research on 8700k OCing. I've noticed even on standard BIOS settings it will jump to 4.something Ghz.

All up and running and OC'd to 4.8Ghz. Pretty disappointed to see that I've gained pretty much zero performance in Skyrim SE or Mass Effect Andromeda, but I reckon it's probably more my GPU due to gaming at 3440x1440. Roll on the new nvidia release...

I do have a LOT of mods in skyrim too, and ME:A I only did a quick test. I'll try again about the Tempest in the cockpit as FPS would often drop to ~20 there!
