New build time

Top Cooling: 1 x 120mm fan (or optional 1 x 140mm)

Think that means it comes with a 120mm top fan but you can swap it for a 140mm if you like. So rear + top and you can add a front fan.

TBH in gaming the tri-channel RAM and hyperthreading doesn't really add much, so i5 does kind of make sense. However if you've got the cash then i7 still gets my vote as it should last a bit longer than an i5 build.

that d14 noctua cooler wont allow you to use that patriot memory

if you want to use the patriot memory then use a megahalem cooler
if you want to use the noctua cooler then use this memory

Thanks, this build has got to last me a good few years, so i'd rather pay a few extra quid now, then regret it later.

Thanks again, think I'll just pick up the corsair memory instead then.

Got to pop out to work now, really hoping to place my order when I get in tonight, so as always, I greatly appreciate any opinions :)

So final looking build

Price got cut off at the bottom, total is £1,033.28, my wallets having a panic attack, but hopefully it'll be worth it.

Leave this up for a few hours for critisim and I'll place the order before i log for the night.

i strongly suggest you change that palit gfx card there have been countless reviews on the heat and the sound that comes from it .. what about

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-128-GW&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1830

that gigabyte one would be perfect and with the nice oc on it should perform well too :)

just a bit of advice :)

edit : the sapphire psu's are quite good actually

It looks like a really really nice build :D
IMO i would spend abit more on a case as you dont want your expensive CPU going to waste by blowing warm air over your heatsink. :D
Whats an extra £20 to a £1,000 build...but like i said thts my opinion

Go patriots, ive heard people been having many problems with that corsair set on this board.

Haha
Well cases are personal preferences really. It also depends on how much your willing to spend on a case??
Also try the case central section

He's been advised to go for them by rich so that the memory won't get in the way of the cooler.

And as rich builds loads of these kinda systems day in day out im sure he would'nt guide him wrong.
