Hi all,

Looking at putting together a new system for myself, I feel it is about time I moved away from my good old i7 920 rig.

I cant decide between a Z87 based around a 4770K or an X79 system based around a 4820K, and then either an Nvidia GTX 770 or ATi R9 280X.

Would also like to include a ~250gb Samsung SSD, Pro or EVO? And a Corsair 800D case.

I generally only use my system for gaming and a bit of SAS work and run a triple monitor setup, not Eyefinity, just extended desktop.

I'm leaning towards a Z87 with a 4770K, 16GB memory and a GTX 770. But any thoughts would be cool!

Thanks

What sort of budget do you have?

For your uses it seems a bit overkill.

A 4670k and a 280x as they are a 7970(GHz) but cheaper. :) that would be my choice, that would save you a good £200+ on what your planning.

Also id go for the 750D rather than the 800D, unless you already have the 800D.

I budgeted for about £1300 in total.

Also, should I be going for the Pro or the Evo Samsung SSD?
